RALPH C. POTTER '47, New England intercollegiate dinghy sailing champion who also earned two varsity letters in track and served as team captain, was an outstanding supporter of the University, especially in the area of athletics, specifically sailing. He has been given much credit for the success of the URI sailing team. Potter was very active in community and civic organizations and was a successful marketing and advertising executive who became chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Potter-Hazelhurst, Inc., of Cranston.
