DIANE HULL BROWN '86, a standout setter in volleyball, finished third in the nation in assists as a senior in 1985, helping the Rams (26-8) earn their first NCAA Tournament berth, make the Top 20 for the first time, and lead the nation in attack percentage (.325). She was named first-team All-Atlantic 10 in 1984 and earned second-team honors in 1985 despite missing most games with a broken foot. She made the All-Atlantic 10 Tournament team both years and won the Eleanor Holmes Award as Rhode Island's top student-athlete of 1985-86.
