MICHAEL SARKESIAN '53 earned three varsity letters as a fullback and was named to All-New England and All-Conference teams. He also participated in track, and later coached two state championship basketball teams at Hope High School. He was a college teacher and coach, as well as professor of physical education and department chairman. He was Director of Athletics at Washburn University and Iowa Wesleyan College.
