Dan Batz is one of the top position players in the history of the Rhode Island baseball program.

He is the first player in program history to earn multiple All-America awards.  He earned two major awards from the Atlantic 10 - Rookie of the Year (2001) and Player of the Year (2004), after leading the league in doubles with 24 that season.

Batz still holds four career records at Rhode Island - batting average, hits, doubles, RBI - and ranks second in career home runs (23), extra-base hits (92), total bases (425), and on-base percentage (.453)
