Melanie Kasparek-Rainville is one of the most decorated women's soccer student-athletes in University of Rhode Island history.

A 2002 NSCAA All-America Second Team selection for her play on the field, Kasparek-Rainville was twice was named to the ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team (2004, 2005).

She earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 (2002-05) for four consecutive seasons and was a two-time Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year and Student-Athlete of the Year (2003, 2005).  In 2002, she was named the 2002 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year.

She ranks second in program history in career points (123) and goals (50), third in assists (23).
