RUTH JERRETT URQUHART '38 was one of the outstanding women athletes of her time, earning a total of 15 letters in basketball, field hockey, tennis, and rifle at Rhode Island State College. An accomplished singer and very active as an undergraduate, she earned both B.S. and M.S. degrees in home economics at Kingston and was later credited with starting school lunch programs in seven area schools. She was very active with her alma mater and in civic and community affairs.
