RICHARD K. COLE, athletic therapist for many years at the University of Rhode Island and a 1970 inductee into the National Helms Hall of Fame, had a career that spanned 41 years. He was a nationally recognized expert in his field and one of the chief contributors to the University's highly successful Medical Aspects of Sports Conferences. He was also a standout wrestler who served as wrestling referee for the National Collegiate Athletics Association, the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the U.S Olympic Trials. A Navy veteran, he was discharged as Lieutenant Commander in 1946.
