ROBERT C. "RED" HAIRE '28, one of the finest basketball players in the history of the school, succeeded his former coach Frank Keaney at Rhode Island State College, compiling a 56-42 record in four years. He was also an outstanding tennis player, ECAC basketball official, teacher, and baseball, basketball, football, and tennis coach at both the schoolboy and collegiate levels.
