DR. HAROLD W. BROWNING '14, distinguished Vice President Emeritus of the University who retired in 1962 after 42 years as a professor and dean of science, business, arts and sciences, and men, directed graduate studies before becoming Vice President in 1942. During his tenure at Kingston, he was a member of the Athletic Committee and Athletic Council for 38 years, many of which were as chairman. He is a member of the State of Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame and was active in fraternal, masonic and civic affairs.
