ROBERT K. UNDERHILL '51 earned nine varsity letters at Rhode Island as a member of the baseball, basketball, and football teams from 1947-51. Following a remarkable collegiate career, he spent the next 36 years as a coach in football, 22 years in basketball and 17 years in baseball. Twice he garnered state Coach of the Year honors, once in New Hampshire and once in Vermont. He guided five state championship teams and four undefeated teams. In 1995 he was honored by the Joe Yukica New Hampshire Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame as a recipient of the Distinguished Contribution to Football award.
