JANET POTTER BROWNELL '38 earned eight varsity awards in basketball, field hockey and tennis at Rhode Island State College, receiving the athletic sweater for excellence two years in a row. She retired in 1978 as a teacher after a 33-year career in the Rhode Island and Connecticut education systems. She was active in professional and civic organizations and was a longtime goodwill volunteer.
