ROCCO NEGRIS '53, a career Army officer who was an outstanding two-sport athlete at URI, earned six varsity letters in baseball and cross-country. He was captain of his cross-country teams and co-captain of his baseball teams. Negris was highly decorated, serving three separate tours in Vietnam. He was a Major General at the time of his induction.
