Hall of Fame
JAMES W. "JIM" NORMAN '57, a two-year letterman in baseball, was Sports Information Director and Assistant Athletic Director at URI, as well as radio play-by-play "Voice of the Rams" for football and basketball for 34 years. He earned 56 major awards over 22 years as URI's athletic publicist and is one of the University's most admired goodwill ambassadors. Very active in many of URI's athletic and alumni programs, he was president of the URI Ram Club, Words Unlimited, and the Providence Gridiron Club, and is a member of the latter two organizations' Halls of Fame, as well as the State of Rhode Island's Heritage Hall of Fame.
