WILLIAM A. CAWLEY was sports editor, schoolboy sportswriter, and Connecticut bureau chief for the Westerly Sun, covering URI athletic events for more than 35 years. Very active in community events, he was a founder and president of Words Unlimited, serving 34 years on its Board of Directors. Cawley was a solid and dedicated supporter of the University and its athletic program.
