ROBERT B. STRONG '26, an outstanding track and cross-country performer who earned eight varsity letters at Rhode Island State College, set many all-time records. He earned a 1924 Olympic tryout and participated in numerous marathons and AAU-sponsored events for many years. For 44 years he was Director of Public Works and head of the Construction and Maintenance Division for the City of Providence. He was an active alumnus with yeoman civic, professional and cultural service to the community throughout his lifetime.
