DR. ROBERT LEPPER, JR. '36, winner of eight letters in football and baseball, was an outstanding lineman and later assistant football coach. He was an avid supporter of URI athletics, serving as Chairman of the Athletic Council and Acting Director of Athletics, as well as Dean of the URI College of Arts and Sciences. He held numerous alumni, faculty, staff, and State positions during his years at Kingston as professor of botany. Lepper was an outstanding educational, civic and cultural leader.
