GEZA A. HENNI, Honorary Class '87, spent 20 years as the Rhode Island soccer coach from 1969-89, posting a 175-125-47 record. He took URI to the NCAA Tournament as well as to top spots in the New England and Yankee Conferences. He was the New England Coach of the Year in 1979 and was an assistant professor of physical education from 1969-89, and is now a professor emeritus. Henni was a member of the Hungarian National Team from 1946-54 and coached the U.S. Olympic Team and the Pan American Team in 1967. He also coached the 1965 U.S. World Cup Team, the Eastern College All-Stars in the 1978 Senior Bowl, and the Houston Stars of the NASL from 1967-69.
